Preserving the authenticity of the fifties was the most important part of the renovation of this Boulder, Colorado home built in 1950. The owners–a retired architect and an artist, were inspired by the home’s good bones and classic design. They worked with architect DiAnn Sherk of Boulder Associates to open up the home and bring it up to code. I love what the owner said about the interior: “This home gave us an opportunity to reach back to happy times and the classic design and furnishings we’ve both always respected and enjoyed.” Very cool! It didn't surprise me that this home is owned by an Architect. The Barcelona Chairs designed by Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen's Round Dining Table and Eames molded plastic chairs are classic modern furniture desired by every Architect who lived in the 60's and 70's.
