Weekend Bliss

October 15, 2010

From the bottom of my heart, thank each and every one of you for your comments about my grandma. Your thoughts and prayers have brought me a lot of comfort and that is very much appreciated. The last couple of days have been tough, but her memory will live on and will always bring me much joy. We had a nice time in Iowa, including a lovely afternoon spent at the farm. The weather couldn’t have been any more perfect.

Speaking of weather, I have the feeling there aren’t going to be too many more weekends here in Minnesota where we can enjoy our porches. Doesn’t this one designed by Lee Ann Thornton take the cake?! It’s crazy to me that something as simple as beautiful fabric can make my heart so happy. (Here we have Raoul Textiles…just stunning.) The weather is supposed to continue to be nice here, and I wish it only the best for all of you wherever you are this weekend!

I'm reading a really good book and I'm dying to curl up in that last chair, put a cat on my lap, and play hooky from life for a while!

Glad you had a nice visit to Iowa and were able to honor your wonderful grandmother. I was born in Iowa. What a pretty and cozy porch with great color! Have a good weekend.

Erin! I was so sorry to hear about your grandmother! My deepest condolences. She lived a good, long life though, so for that you can be grateful. I saw her picture with you below. She was a beautiful lady. You look a lot like her! And isn't it just like you, to get right back to work and give us these beautiful pictures to leave us with for the weekend to make us happy. I am sure your grandmother would be so proud. And, actually, one can see how happy she was in May to have you right there with her. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend remembering your grandmother.
    Best regards and blessings,
    Gloria

So glad to hear you had a nice time in Iowa celebrating your grandma's life, Erin, and that the weather was lovely! Its good to have you back.

I always thought I preferred white or light-colored porch furniture, but not after seeing this post! This porch is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT in every way, and what I wouldn't do for a good book, a pitcher of sweet mango tea, and my three cats (yes, I know, THREE!) all curled up together on that sofa! Absolutely bliss – forget the world exists for at least a weekend.

Thanks for the beauty! — Kimberly

very sorry for the loss of your Grandma. My Granny passed away recently too, I see so many little things everyday reminding me of her. She graduated to the kingdom of heaven, she's in the best house now.

Sorry to hear about your grandma. A porch is my favourite room and what a coincidence – I just bought a ceramic "birdcage" like that. Even though it has a hook, very wise not to try and hang it up. Mine has a different design, but they are both gorgeous.

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
