Cindy Mihuc

February 12, 2014

Were we in for a treat today or what?! This giant dose of coastal eye candy was delivered to us by Cindy Mihuc, an interior designer at GDC Home in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Cindy designed the home (photographed by Matthew Bolt) for a young family of five who wanted their vacation home in Kiawah Island to be a recreational retreat with casual, coastal flavor and a colorful palette inspired by the sea. Most of the items in the home are from GDC Home, a family-owned furnishings store in the Charleston area. Don’t you love how all of the colorful pieces really shine through on that neutral backdrop?! Cindy said her goal was to give the family a fun and inspiring respite to relax, read and entertain, and to make their time in Kiawah memorable. They got all that and much more, I’d say!!

Love the house but am always stumped why homeowners spend all this money on textiles and design and then their artwork looks like it was purchased from the walls of pottery barn or restoration hardware: ie mass produced. For me, it sort of ruins the rest of the house. Love the colors though.

Wow! This house is stunning, truly a beach house dream. I especially love the black cabinets. I think they were a great touch, they truly balance out all of the other bright colors. Also, who wouldn’t want to relax on that oversize porch swing? Thanks for the share.

I’m Erin and I am obsessed with the color turquoise. I started this blog to collect inspirational photos I find of fabulous rooms that feature all of the lovely shades of my favorite color. For even more turquoise, visit my shopping blog Everything Turquoise!
