Chris Mead + English Country Antiques

May 31, 2012

Pretty sure you’d believe me if I said the owners of this home were antique dealers in the Hamptons. But what if I told you that Chris Mead and Zoe Hoare’s 1748 Sagaponack, New York saltbox cottage was built from a salvaged boat? That’s right! Imagine the stories this home could tell! Nothing in the home is straight, plumb, or level, but it is certainly filled with charm! I’m seriously in love with all of their incredible collections. The key here is definitely grouping the like with the like. Makes such a statement! So much of what you see was outfitted from Chris’ shop English Country Antiques…safe bet I’ll be visiting it next time I’m in Bridgehampton! Oh and get this, I found here that you can even rent out this adorable cottage–although we might all have to chip in! For lots more images taken by Tim Street-Porter, read the article over at Country Living!

If I see another white sofa I swear I'll rip my hair out! Nobody I know would have a white sofa in a million years.

Let's see someone decorate a cute house while actually making it liveable!

I have loved them for over 25 years!
Their shop was among my faves when I lived in East Hampton.
    Their style is timeless!

Love, love it, brings back memories of my childhood on the coast. It is so my style just a tad unaffordable. I did check that, saw more pics too at that site.

One of my favorite houses ever. Chris was one of the most famous photographers out there in the 1980s-90s. Shot a ton for Martha. I just met him last year. Super nice guy to boot!
