Turquoise and orange is certainly a cheery pairing, one that I would never have thought up on my own! I love that it can be used in so many different design styles, as you can see from the huge range of rooms above. Whenever I see it though, I automatically think of Howard Johnson’s because of this quote by designer John Willey in House Beautiful: “Don’t take this the wrong way, but that room reminds me of 1960s Howard Johnson’s colors β€” that wonderfully intense orange and aqua β€” but modernized a bit. It’s such a terrific vintage palette and I have to admit, I love orange.”

I love orange and turquoise together. And thanks to my colourlovers palettes, I know exactly when I started loving the combo! And luckily I get to have an aqua and orange bedroom in about a year (after I get married…)!

Thanks so much for your visit to hill country house. I really love that kitchen – glad you do too! You said you would not have thought of orange and turquoise on your own, but think of coral and turquoise in jewelry – I'll bet you would think of it! All different shades of the combination are pretty – one of my favorites color pairings. Thanks for the stunning images – each one is more striking than the next!

I especially love orange/turquoise when it's paired with crisp white – love it! The pic where there's no white looks messy and muddy to me with no focus or rest for the eyes. Great pics, Erin!

I was looking for colors to make our workout room more exciting and came up with orange and turquoise (or aqua or teal). Not sure how to pair them. The walls are cinder blocks, so I can't even make stripes. Any ideas? It is a former garage that is now a workout room.
