Cottage Bedroom Makeover

March 4, 2011

Does it get any better than this 1920s stucco cottage in East Hampton designed by House Beautiful contributing editor Frances Schultz? I’m madly in love with her master suite, which used to be the two tiny front bedrooms. All of the fabulous blue on the walls and pretty fabrics, the half canopy, and the dressing table! And the study…what a perfect place to blog! The photographs by Trevor Tondro really capture it all so beautifully too. To see before-n-afters of the space, head to House Beautiful!

I’m so happy it’s Friday! Believe it or not, 6 weeks from today Chris and I will be getting married. (Didn’t we just get engaged?!) Tonight I’m meeting with a hair and makeup artist to go over my vision and on Sunday Chris’ super sweet sisters are throwing me a wedding shower! My very own wedding shower…I can’t believe it! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend too!

    Good morning, my dear Erin!

This post is a delight! I love cottages and sometimes I wish I had one. I live by the water, but this house doesn't feel like a cottage. There's something really special about them… maybe its size makes everything feel cozier and more welcoming.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and enjoy being back home. πŸ™‚

By the way, drop by to see my "Cool or Fool" Fridays. Would you live in a "Auto House"??? ha! πŸ™‚

    Hugs to you!

What caught my eye was the little vanity desk area created in the alcove with the curved ceiling…and the pattern lining the surface under the glass. Just charming! Janell

    Hi Erin,
I haven't visited for a while and I sure am glad I did, I am just redoing our bedroom and have the exact colour scheme (well close) planned as this adorable and charming and beautiful bedroom. I wasn't sure if it was the right way to go but now I can see it works. Once again thanks for sharing.
I hope you have a wonderful shower and get lots of goodies!
